What is a remnant?

A remnant is a piece at the end of a roll. A remnant can be carpet, vinyl or even artificial grass, as these types of floorings are sold in rolls. We usually stock carpets in 4m wide rolls and vinyls in 2m, 3m or 4m rolls. This means that a carpet/vinyl remnant can be suitable to fit your room or stairs.

Remnants allow us to offer you the same quality carpet or vinyl but at a bargain price, giving the opportunity to satisfy everyone.

Can I buy a remnant for a larger room, such as a living room? Or is it only suitable for smaller rooms?

Our remnant stock varies from smaller pieces that are suitable for stairs, medium sized pieces for small rooms, to larger pieces that can cover even a living room!

You are still given the option to choose from an incredible range of styles, colours and materials.

Where can I find carpet or vinyl remnants?

All 7 of our stores have hundreds of carpet or vinyl remnants in stock. All you have to do is visit your nearest Martin Phillips store and have your measurements on hand!

If I buy a remnant, do I have to fit it myself?

We are offering our Expert Fitting Service to anyone buying flooring from us and this includes carpet or vinyl remnants! All you need to do is ask our in-store staff to arrange a fitting for you. As always, for DIYers remnants are available to take away on the day!

Would the wear and stain warranty cover a carpet or vinyl remnant?

Martin Phillips covers it! You are still covered by the same warranty given to a newly cut carpet or vinyl as indicated by the manufacturer.
